
Academic Team Finishes Top Ten at National Championship
天美传媒官方网站鈥檚 Academic Team made its mark at the National Community College Championship tournament in Orlando, Florida over the weekend. The College鈥檚 鈥淎鈥 team finished eighth overall, capping another impressive season for the perennial national power.
天美传媒官方网站鈥檚 Morgan Williamson was named an All-Star at the tournament. In addition, the 鈥淏鈥 team finished 21st overall. This marks the eighth straight time 天美传媒官方网站 has reached the national tournament. Last year, the 鈥淎鈥 team was ranked first nationally heading into the championship. They took home the title in 2016.
鈥淎fter graduating the majority of our scoring from our 鈥淎鈥 team last year, this year鈥檚 team had to work extremely hard to be a national contender,鈥 said Coach Peter Rodski who is also a professor of mathematics at the College. 鈥淭his group has been the largest and deepest team we鈥檝e ever had at 天美传媒官方网站. They enjoy working together and are truly dedicated. It鈥檚 been a blast watching them grow as a team.鈥
天美传媒官方网站 amassed a 30-9 record this season with notable wins over the University of 天美传媒官方网站, Transylvania University and Eastern 天美传媒官方网站 University. This marks the eighth year in a row that 天美传媒官方网站 has finished in the top eight. With several players returning next season, Rodski expects the team to compete for another national title.
